Sweet Sues: Home of the Giant Pancake.

Sweet Sue’s Diner tries to disguise itself as “nuffin’ special” when you’re driving by, but the incredible roadside sign beckoned to our empty stomachs LATE on a Sunday morning, along Rt 20 somewhere between Geneva and Canandaigua. We pulled over and went looking for some pancake.

It was packed inside. We took possession of a table right opposite the grill so I could watch Sweet Sue. Everyone working there was really hustling — especially Sue (Sue is the one in the hat).

Sweet Sues has the most generous breakfast I have ever attempted to consume. The portions are huge, especially the pancakes which are the size of dinner plates. They offer a “non-edible” prize to anyone who can eat 3.

Needless to say:  Pancake 1, Barb 0.

This is a story better told through music and action.

Background music is “Cash on the Barrell” by Charlie Louvin.
