Beaver Lake Nature Center: Enjoy 6 Miles of Cross Country Skiing
Just a few miles northwest of Syracuse, New York, in Baldwinsville, is Beaver Lake Nature Center. This 200 acre glacial lake enjoys visitation from more than 200 species of birds.
What is really awesome about Beaver Lake Nature Center is the six miles of trails beautifully groomed and reserved for Cross Country Skiing. You get a great track and a very private ski experience. The ski trails are pretty flat with one 3 mile trail looping around the lake.
You can also rent snowshoes in the winter for $5 an hour. There are an additional three miles of trails for showshoers and hiking
In summer you can rent canoes and kayaks on a first-come basis.
Inside the Nature Center there is a gift shop, rest rooms, a large meeting room, a small museum with many animal species and a windowed bird watching room that looks out at feeders that were loaded with Chickadees, Goldfinches, Nuthatches and of course lots of squirrels dancing below.
Admission is $4 per car, collected as you exit
